Deleting your data
How to remove everything WaterChamp holds
WaterChamp has no account and no server copy of your hydration history. Your drinks, goals and settings are stored on your device, so most deletion happens on the device itself and takes effect immediately. A small amount of technical data does leave the device, and that part is covered further down.
Requesting deletion
Send an email with the subject Data deletion request. We reply within 30 days.
Because there is no account, we cannot look you up by name or email. To find records that relate to you, include whatever applies:
- The email address you used, if you ever sent feedback from inside the app
- The approximate date of that feedback
- Your subscription's order number, if you have a WaterChamp Pro subscription
If you send nothing identifying, we will still confirm what we hold and delete anything we can trace, but anonymous diagnostics cannot be matched to a person by design — see below.
Data on your device
This is everything you log: drinks, hydration and caffeine history, goals, achievements and settings. It never leaves your device, so deleting it locally deletes it completely.
Delete individual entries
Open the entry in the app and delete it.
Delete everything
- Android — Settings › Apps › WaterChamp › Storage & cache › Clear storage. Uninstalling the app also removes it.
- iOS — delete the app from the Home Screen. iOS removes its stored data with it.
Data written to Health Connect or Apple Health
If you connected WaterChamp to your platform's health store, your water and caffeine were written there as well. That copy belongs to the health store, not to WaterChamp, so uninstalling the app does not remove it. Delete it where it lives:
- Android — Settings › Security & privacy › More privacy settings › Health Connect › App permissions › WaterChamp. On Android 13, open the separate Health Connect app. Health Connect also lets you delete the data itself, not just revoke access.
- iOS — Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › WaterChamp, or delete the individual samples in the Health app.
WaterChamp only ever deletes samples it created itself.
Data held by our processors
Three services receive limited technical data on our behalf. None of them receives your hydration history, your health data or your on-device profile.
Sentry — crash and performance diagnostics
Automatic diagnostics are anonymous: no IP address, no personal identifiers, and session replays have all text and images masked. We never attach a user identity to them, which means we cannot search them for your records — there is nothing linking them to you to search by. They are deleted on Sentry's normal retention cycle, typically about 90 days.
The exception is feedback you chose to send from inside the app. That includes your message and, if you typed one, your email address. We can find and delete that — include the email address or approximate date in your request.
Superwall — subscriptions and paywalls
Receives your subscription state, a device identifier, and coarse non-identifying attributes such as your measurement unit and a banded daily goal. It does not receive your exact goal, your weight, your age or any health data.
Expo — app update delivery
Receives standard update-request logs when the app checks for an update.
Cancelling a subscription
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription, and cancelling does not delete data. Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought from — Google Play or the App Store — and must be cancelled there.
