Questions, bugs, and anything that isn't working

Write to us about anything: a bug, a drink that's missing, a feature you want, or a refund question. Every message is read by a person.

Reporting a bug

The more of this you can include, the faster it gets fixed:

Common questions

Reminders aren't arriving

First check notifications are allowed:

Note that the hydration reminder is not on a fixed timer. It's scheduled for the moment you're predicted to run low, based on what you've drunk and on your workouts and sleep, so the gap between reminders changes from day to day.

Health sync isn't updating

WaterChamp syncs with Apple Health on iPhone and with Health Connect on Android.

What moves in each direction is not symmetrical: your water and caffeine are written to the health store, while workouts, active energy, steps and sleep are read from it to adjust your goal. Drinks logged in other apps do not come back into WaterChamp.

Alcohol is tracked inside WaterChamp on both platforms, but it is only written to Apple Health on iPhone. Health Connect has no alcohol record type, so nothing is written there.

The widget isn't refreshing

Both platforms decide for themselves when a widget reloads, so a short delay is normal. Opening the app forces an update. If a widget stays blank, remove it from the Home Screen and add it again.

Tapping a drink on the wider widget opens the app with that drink pre-filled, ready for you to confirm the amount. It does not log the drink on its own.

On iPhone there are Lock Screen widgets as well as Home Screen ones. Android has the two Home Screen widgets only.

Managing or cancelling your subscription

WaterChamp Pro is billed by the store you bought it from, not by us, so it is managed there:

From there you can change plan or cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Pro until the current period ends. If you're on a free trial, cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Restoring a purchase

On a new device, or after reinstalling, open the app's Settings screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same account that bought the subscription: your Apple Account on iPhone, your Google account on Android. A subscription bought on one platform does not carry over to the other.

Refunds

All purchases go through the app stores, so refunds are handled by them rather than by us:

If something in the app caused the problem, write to us as well so we can fix it.

Where is my data, and how do I delete it?

Your hydration history, goals and settings are stored on your device. There is no account and no server copy, so deleting the app removes that data. Anything written to Apple Health or Health Connect stays there and is deleted separately, from within those apps.

Step-by-step instructions, including data held by our processors, are on the deleting your data page. See the privacy policy for the full detail, including the services that receive anonymous diagnostic and subscription data.

I lost my history after reinstalling

The data lives on the device rather than in an account, so reinstalling starts fresh. Signing in on a new phone does not bring it back.

Anything already written to Apple Health or Health Connect survives an uninstall, because it belongs to the health store rather than to WaterChamp.

A note on the numbers

Hydration, caffeine and alcohol figures in the app are estimates, calculated from published half-life ranges and from what you enter. They will not match a clinical measurement. WaterChamp is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Talk to a doctor about anything health-related.
